How can I show that all perfect numbers are also triangular?

I know all even perfect numbers (and all known perfect numbers) are of the form (2^(p-1))(2^p - 1) when the second factor is prime, and that triangular numbers are of the form n(n+1)/2, but I cant seem to get from one form to the other.
