Starting Clomid...3 Follicles?

Hi. I started 100 mg of Clomid today (day 5 of cycle) and when the dr. did the ultrasound there were 3 follicles developing. Is it normal to already have follicles at day 5? Is this a good thing or a normal thing? Also...how are the injections...have to go for one of those next week....
