you could write about iraq . we are at war with them . why? there are a dozen other counties that pose the same risk to america , why was bush so hot to have a pre emtive invasion ? OIL ! why are we in Afghanistan ? same reason the soviets invaded . they wanted a southern port oil terminus , russia got loads of oil in the central part of their county , but no easy way to ship it out . so rather than make a deal with the locals were they would pay a fee to lay a pipeline , we are trying to install an american friendly puppet government , so as to keep every dime of profit and cheat the locals . this is why people hate american imperialism . free trade is not free .
